6.2.0 has some performance optimizations. report back, if it's still a problem.
Mod compatibility can be achieved using resource packs since 6.0.0. So this generic issue is obsolete.
Given I don't have access to a VR, I don't see, how I could reproduce the issue and fix it.
Please try if the issue persists in 6.2.0

Available since 6.0.0, the resource pack based method of defining texture sets makes this obsolete.
This isn't a real problem. Just one message. If you have problems, it's not this one.
