Sometimes get Double Parentheses

OSX Beta Preview: Version 0.9.9.36.2 (4901).

At times, when typing a parenthesis "(", two or "double parentheses" appear "(())". I do not have a clear replication pattern yet, but it has occurred enough times that I want to get a log going. It may be that my key repeat lag is set too low, but also worth seeing if others are seeing this, since it hasn't occurred in any other note taker (or editor of any kind) I've used recently.

What do you mean about key repeat lag, did you repeat your key press or any apps doing that for you?

Also, do you use any IME or non-English keyboard layout? Did you use apps like TextExpander or set related text shortcut in your System Preferences → Keyboard?

Last, does this happened in the built-in theme?

I also encountered this problem and it's a little bit annoying. I'm currently using the latest stable version of Typora and macOS 11.3 on M1 MacBook Pro. My input source is US English. It is not a keyboard related problem, since I have tried all my three keyboards including the MacBook keyboard, Niz atom 68, and Ganss G87. No shortcuts were set, no key mapping.

I have this problem as well and I'm able to reproduce it, but only in a file created with a previous version of Typora. Typora itself is up to date 0.10.11 (5372), macOS 11.2.3.

UPDATE: I restarted Typora and it went away, so it's perhaps not related to files created in older versions of Typora after all.

  1. Move the cursor up or down from another line (it does not work if you navigate to the line by clicking it)
  2. Move the cursor to the end of the line
  3. Add a space and start a parenthesis

I was able to reproduce this error in any document, and the conditions are very specific:

  1. Have a document with more than 35000 characters
  2. Make a change so the document has status 'Edited'
  3. Blur the window (focus another window and back)
  4. Move cursor from one line to another
  5. Move cursor to the end of the line and add a space and a parenthesis

Not sure if this is a dead issue or not but this is still happening for me, Macbook Pro, MacOS 13.1, M1 chip, 16-inch 2021.
