question: next release date?

I was trying to...

I needed using IS_OPTIONAL to sanitize an object based on it's validation metadata. However, I noticed that, even though #2044 has already been merged, there are releases that include this change.

The problem:

The last release was 7 months ago, and since then, several bumps and fixes have been included.
