[etlas] When etlas update fails on eta-hackage, give better error message

Sometimes, it may happen that etlas update fails if your patches repository is in an inconsistent state. If so, a proper message should be given on how to recover from that error - or at least an interactive prompt that asks the user whether it's OK to reset.
