Trust problem using IP and a DNS as common name?
Client:
- [ ] µTorrent
- [ ] qBittorrent
- [ ] Transmission
- rTorrent
- [ ] Deluge
Client Version: 0.9.4 (mabey) ruTorrent v3.7 Operating System: Windows 10 64bit Application Version: 2.6.1 Description:
Trying to connet to a seedbox, where the common name are the business name where i rent the box and i use an IP address.
The info i have put in, i use in Sonarr and other programs where i need to connet to rtorrent.
I get the window where it ask me to trust it or not, and after i hit the trust button or the untrust one this shows up.
Your common name must match the domain name used to access the server via https. If you do not have the IP as the common name or in a list of subject alternative names in your certificate, the connection will ALWAYS fail.
If you had a domain name pointing to your IP then your would have CN=somedomain.name but because you are explicitly connecting via an IP address you must have, CN=123.123.123.123 when you generate your certificate.
-OR- you have to go through trying to set up subject alternative names/wildcard names. Which honestly is overkill for your situation.
