Survey: Settings preferences
Pal Calc has a variety of settings which are associated with different contexts. Namely, there are global, game-specific, and target-specific settings. These "groups" of settings are stored and reset under different circumstances. e.g. changes to game-specific settings will be used for all solver runs in the selected save, but target-specific settings ("Source Pals") are reset whenever you start a new target pal.
This survey is to ask for feedback on how people actually use these settings and gather suggestions on how to make these more convenient.
The current "groups" of settings are:
- Global Settings
- Max Breeding Steps
- Allowed Bred Pals
- Max Wild Pals
- Allowed Wild Pals
- Max Input / Bred Irrelevant Passives
- Max Solver Steps
- Max CPUs
- Game-Specific Settings
- Breeding Time
- Egg Incubation Time
- Multiple Breeding Farms
- Pal Target-Specific Settings
- Source Pals - Filters (Include Global Palbox, Base, Viewing Cages, etc.)
- Guild and Players
For example, if you often make changes to Source Pals, you need to reapply those changes every time you start a new Target Pal. It might be more convenient to store these as game-specific settings, meaning the last-used values become the default for new target pals in that save.
Of course, it could also be useful to just add different types of presets, but this adds clutter and complication. Whether or not that's necessary is another bit of feedback to collect.
I would suggest changing the Source Pals options to game settings. I find I almost always have pals on expedition unchecked, and having to re-do that every time I run a calculation is a bit annoying.

Is that what's happening? I was so confused as to why I was missing pals I knew I had in the calculator, haha. Thanks for letting me know. I'll make sure to re-calculate after my expeditions end.
