compression/decompression or record batches should be user provided

currently compression/decompression of record batches is embedded in this library. i feel its really out of scope for this lib and limits its usage.

for example, i may want to compress at a specific compression ratio for zstd, but i am stuck with the implementation provided in the lib.

similarly issues like #79 wouldnt require a whole bump to the library and wouldnt take place in the first place.
