Detected I/O inside the event loop - HA completely breaks

Hi all,

I'm trying to start a record when opening the front door. When implementing this as an automation or using the dev tools my home assistant instance completely breaks. I need to unplug it from power to get it running again.

This is the corresponding entry in the logs:
