Wirefree Doorbell no longer showing after basestation

I've just added the wire-free doorbell to the basestation since the latest update, but Aarlo doesn't seem to detect it. Now my Doorbell entities all say "unavailable"

Just curious, was someone who doesn't have a base station, what is the advantage of adding the wire-free doorbell to the base station?

Quicker response (theoretically), better battery life but for me, I can have the local back up of recordings.
