Yes the Current Troll emoji doesn't make sense in 2025. Everyone associates the word Troll with the Classic Troll Face Emoji. We need to make this Happen on X FIRST So it will make EVERYONE else COPY X AGAIN

I've no idea but also I've never had anything to do with the design choices of this project, I just wrote the JS implementation.
I think this project is death since X exists and Twitter doesn't anymore but please do not ask me anything about this project as it's from 23 years ago to me and I think it's also 100% useless these days as every single device supports emoji natively.

The phone apps use native emojis indeed but the web app (x.com) is still using its own set of emojis

not sure if that's for feature phones or something with poor unicode/emoji support at the OS level but then again, I believe nobody at X is maintaining this library so that this project should be considered done unless proven otherwise.
