Make "For You" tab stop showing the same tweet multiple times
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I'm always frustrated when I'm browsing the For You tab and it shows the exact same post from the same person a thousand times
Describe the solution you'd like I want it to not happen anymore
Describe alternatives you've considered Show it only once

Just block people who tweet the same things over and over? Or filter it client side with custom JS?... Although probably not a bad feature request. Maybe they can implement it cheaply by down scoring accounts that do that?

they are actually tweets from people I DO follow, I don't care seeing it once, but seeing it multiple times as long as I'm scrolling the For You tab is annoying

I don't think he is referring to a person who posts the same Tweet more than once. But rather the fact that the same Tweet reappears multiple times even after it has been viewed before.
In this case, I share your frustration. When I used Facebook, I would usually hide what I had already read and didn't want to keep rereading. To increase the chance of more new things appearing in the feed. So it would be useful to have an option to hide what we have already seen. I would even go further, allowing to hide posts on the same topic. Let's say there is news about the death of a celebrity. Okay, I already know the celebrity has died. I don't want to see another thousand tweets about the same topic. So I ask to hide that topic, and no other tweet about that topic will appear in the feed again.
I've also been having this issue and it's really annoying, they're probably not going to fix it though.
It has happened to me once or twice when I had poor connectivity. It feels like a client side app bug to me, when using Twitter in Chrome Mobile: Either it's requesting the same thing twice, or it's receiving the same request twice. I doubt the developers ever have poor connectivity, which is probably why it has not been solved yet.
