Proposal for Twitter to Set Standards for Recommendation Algorithms Like WebExtensions Community
Web extensions have made it possible to alter the behavior of web pages. In a similar way, why doesn't Twitter set standards for recommendation algorithms, just like the WebExtensions Community sets standards for web extensions?
If this happens, developers could create their own recommendation algorithms for Twitter, and users could choose and use the algorithm that best fits their needs and tastes.
There are already numerous Twitter extensions created to improve the user experience. By standardizing recommendation algorithms, we can further empower developers and users to customize their Twitter experience.
Please consider this proposal for an open and collaborative approach to recommendation algorithms on Twitter.
Case in point: Almost 2K web extensions created for Firefox that have already enhanced the Twitter experience. 🔽
