output's "reset" vs "clear" buttons: confusing UI

Each output pre has a couple of buttons at the bottom, clear and reset. I can't distinguish between what reset does and what clear does. They both make the output box disappear. If I press the submit button, the output box re-appears (running my new code if I changed it).

FWIW, when I saw reset's arrow-ouroboros icon, I expected its behavior to be something like replace the output box's contents with the output of running my changed code.
