Blood splatters (Vicarius Reality)
When backtracking to places visited before, blood is splattered all over the walls.

I can't reproduce this. How far back did you backtrack? Did you go back from the next chapter?
In any case, decals are handled by the engine so i doubt there's anything i can do about this.
No, you can't go back to Crush Depth and back from Pit Worm's Nest. I stayed in Vicarius Reality looking high and low for ammo for the Displacer Cannon. In practice it's not a big deal anyway, just a curiosity.
The same thing happens in Blue Shift too. In "Captive Freight" I just took the old elevator down and then returned to the area in the video. https://youtu.be/9mP2qY2mx_0
Can you record a video showing you starting a new map using the map
command and then taking the steps needed to get this to happen? I've never seen this bug before and i need that information to figure out what's causing it.

It seems it is not related to blood splatters only. It applies to any decals (thus the title name change). https://youtu.be/v5yWHIAoPjM
I'm not sure what causes this, but it's in the engine so i can't fix it anyway.

Somebody at Valve will need to look into this one.
