Custom field type that points to a workspace member

As of today when I create a new relationship, I can only create a relationship that points to the custom objects I created or the 3 standard objects we currently have (people, companies, opportunities). This means I am not able to create a custom field that would be similar to the "account owner" field we have on the companies table.
