You can solve this by cding into the resource folder you installed to (probably ~/aknight2015/.magicseteditor/resource/) and copy the relevant files from resource to resource/tool with cp combine* tool. You may have to do the same with symmetry. I believe this is an issue with the packs, so you may want to report this as an issue there.

This repo hasn't received any commits in three years; try haganbmj's fork. (The fork also works better under Linux for me.)
