Same issue. Was originally fixed with upgrade to 12.7 but now seems unstable again. Currently running 12.10.

Same. Runing last ha. Same problem that a month ago.

Kind of redundant, however I am experiencing this as well. States and switches are not being updated at all.

kashalls avatar Jan 29 '22 06:01 kashalls

Same here, I have recently noticed that the device states in HA would eventually become out of sync with the actual state.

I was just made aware that the Tuya v2 addon is being discontinued? Not sure if this is true or not, seems the case in their discord...

I´m going to try Local tuya. See how it goes. But I just restart and after half an hour still working as it should? Yesterday night was broken again after 15 min, so lets see if it was just a server problem.

fernando155 avatar Jan 29 '22 11:01 fernando155

Had this issue for some time, Moved all my devices to local Tuya - to start with was great but then i noticed devices falling off my network and having connection issues (not sure if something to do with the cloud requirement)... either way neither of them were satisfactory outcomes ... So currently not using HA (#Sadface) and back using Google Assistant/Tasker/Tuya app combo ... seeming more stable for day to day use.

Cueball666uk avatar Jan 29 '22 19:01 Cueball666uk

I think I'm going to look into using LocalTuya, unfortunately I can't do a scan because my tuya devices are vlanned.

That or I'm moving back to the official plugin.

kashalls avatar Jan 29 '22 19:01 kashalls

The official plugin does not show the correct state (on/off) all the time... its crazy but there is not a stable (Official or Local Tuya) that are able to provide guaranteed stable day to day use. I will come back and try if i see some update that addresses these problems. But as for now I'm not able to recommend using Tuya devices with home assistant (my opinion obvs), which is an issue for me as 90% of my devices are Tuya.

Same problem here. It seemed to be stable again for about a week but has been playing up again for the last 10 days.

Same problem here. I need to reload the integration to renew the status of devices (docker version 2021.12.10)

pserranoa avatar Jan 30 '22 16:01 pserranoa

Same problem and I just switched to local tuya, it's really good. Only problem, PIR and door sensor are not supported. Force to keep them with tuya cloud :(

WarC0zes avatar Jan 31 '22 06:01 WarC0zes

I can't get PIR sensors working with either Tuya or Local Tuya...

Same problem here. I need to reload the integration to renew the status of devices ( core-2021.12.10 supervisor-2021.12.2 Home Assistant OS 7.2 )

Pawel128 avatar Jan 31 '22 12:01 Pawel128

same problems with my smartplugs with last version of HA. Reload the integration doesn't help

Not sure if this is a solution, but might help someone...

I was having this issue and it appears to have been solved after creating a new Tuya cloud project. I did change the "Development Method" Parameter to "Smart Home". Previously I had this set to "Custom" and was having the update issue as described.

Note: I am running Home Assistant core-2021.12.10 in docker.

On my project I can't change to "Smart home".. it's grey.. I have "smart home" in "industry"

My project already has the configuration you say, yet I've the problem. tuya

I got both Smart Home, industry and development method, that last one in grey and dont allow me to change it. But still the same. The state in ha is fine, you turn it on or off and works as normal, but no fisically, I mean, if it turn it off using the switch, in ha still reflecting on.

fernando155 avatar Feb 02 '22 12:02 fernando155

The same issue for me, the state isn't reflected. The only workaround I found is to restart the plugin

HawkUser avatar Feb 05 '22 17:02 HawkUser

Is there a service inside of the plugin to refresh the states? I already moved back to the original tuya but maybe there is a service we can call every hour or so to update the states?

kashalls avatar Feb 05 '22 17:02 kashalls

That’s similar to what I’m doing as a workaround. I think homeassistant.reload_config_entry is what you’re looking for.

derek1906 avatar Feb 05 '22 18:02 derek1906

I've removed the Tuya official and now happily using LocalTuya again... I have made the decision to stay using local and eventually phase out all my Tuya devices in favour of ZigBee devices... Had enough of tuya now I will be avoiding in the future.

Cueball666uk avatar Feb 05 '22 18:02 Cueball666uk

@Cueball666uk Couldn't agree more. I dumped Tuya V2/official Tuya after the second round of updates removed power reporting after I loaded it all up into HA and then the state problem reoccurring. I've moved back to LocalTuya and up'd my game on my Zigbee network and purchased new Sonoff and Slaesh's CC2652RB sticks as new coordinators and routers ready to move Tuya devices to Zigbee as time goes by

johnjoemorgan avatar Feb 11 '22 23:02 johnjoemorgan

I have the Sonoff and have already replaced a Tuya PIR sensor with a Sonoff ZigBee alternative ... Honestly night and day when it comes to functionality and how fast it responds. Tuya will lose the backing of the home assistant crowd and that will hurt them in the future I'm sure... I suppose you get what you pay for. I have no end of devices to replace but it will happen slowly over time, just glad my journey will eventually be Tuya free

Same here, this bug has been here since last year. Franck solved it briefly but it is back and needs given higher priority to resolve please

mikebaileyz avatar Feb 16 '22 23:02 mikebaileyz

Same problem. Really hate myself fo choosing tuya devices:(

bartlebi avatar Feb 17 '22 19:02 bartlebi

Same issue as well; I’m super happy with the solution but this is depressing.

NickGit001 avatar Feb 18 '22 16:02 NickGit001

Same issue with 3gang switch and 2022.2.5 This issue needs very high priority as this integration became unusable.

This is a pity that even debug logging doesn't show a clue... logs are empty. Do I do something wrong?

logger:
  default: error
  logs:
    homeassistant.components.tuya iot: debug
