Can we do local control instead of going through cloud

Your integration works fine. But is there a way to locally control my device from home assistance. As local control has less delay, and also works without internet.

Hi @skavinvarnan , yes, will consider to support local control for Tuya Home Assistant integration soon. Please keep checking the updates of the repo.

I just found out about this v2 integration and it looks promising! I've stopped using the v1 integration because the delay between me manually toggling a switch and the state being updated in HA took way too much time (sometimes up to 10 minutes!), I hope the newer integration is faster.

For now I'm using one unofficial Tuya Local integration that is great and reports states very fast, here's hoping you guys can add local support and I can go back to using officially supported software!

The integration looks interesting, but after the experience with the cloud, I removed the device and replaced it with another manufacturer. If it will be possible to control Tuya on the local network I will consider using it.

Very keen to see a HA integration giving local control written by Tuya devs!

With this integration, is it still necessary to create the sensors manually or do they appear automatically? What entities are achieved with this integration? Still not working locally?!?

@fmacmahon
This integration not working locally now. After install, devices will appear automatically if you using the default dashboard.

Thanks for the answer but what I would like to know is: The entities (power sensor, voltage, amps, etc) appear automatically or just the switch entity?

@fmacmahon The device types supported now appear automatically. https://github.com/tuya/tuya-home-assistant#supported-tuya-device-types

@zlinoliver any chance on an ETA on local access now that this just dropped? https://twitter.com/home_assistant/status/1409944323546763265

@zlinoliver it's been over a year since local access dropped, is this actually going to be added?

Folks, localtuya is your crowd sourced version of this. It's a bit more effort and has rough edges, but well... is maintained.
