Maximizing firefox with top bar hidden causes delay when switching tabs

Open UnknownNick opened this issue 4 years ago • 3 comments

When I open a new tab, close it, or switch between them, I sometimes experience a slight delay, or the window doesn't update at all until I force it to, with opening overview or switching windows. This occurs only with the browser window maximized and the top bar hidden. Making the window smaller or disabling the extension both remove the issue.

Happens with both available versions 68 and 69. OS debian testing, firefox 68.7.0esr, gnome 3.36.1, hardware Thinkpad T430 i5-3320M

  1. Are you having this issue on wayland or does it also apply to non-wayland environments?
  2. Is this only with Firefox ESR or also with latest version of Firefox?

Same here, Ubuntu 20.04, package gnome-shell-extension-autohidetopbar (20200322-1), Firefox 80.0.1+build1-0ubuntu0.20.04.1.

Weird slowness and tabs don't close until I click another tab. Disabling extension or de-maximizing window both avoid the issue.
