thanks for the code here. i got as far as installing the dependencies in fedora 20 (64 bit) - and i see in the terminal:

--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Package: libusbx-devel-1.0.19-1.fc20.x86_64 (updates)
           Requires: libusbx(x86-64) = 1.0.19-1.fc20
           Installed: libusbx-1.0.19-100.rc2.fc20.x86_64 (@fedora-chromium-stable)
               libusbx(x86-64) = 1.0.19-100.rc2.fc20
           Available: libusbx-1.0.16-3.fc20.x86_64 (fedora)
               libusbx(x86-64) = 1.0.16-3.fc20
           Available: libusbx-1.0.19-1.fc20.x86_64 (updates)
               libusbx(x86-64) = 1.0.19-1.fc20
 You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
 You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

any idea how to resolve this? thanks

So I'm not on fedora anymore, but when I was, I didn't have a problem. I noticed, however, that you're trying to install libusbx-devel, but the proper dependency id libus-devel ( no x ).

oh ok, i didn't manually type that dependency into the terminal, it was one that yum resolved to locate somehow. i'm not sure how to resolve this presently as yum and dependencies are not my strong point here. any idea what will work? thanks

Nope, lol. It seems like a dependency issue in the repos to me.
