Adjusting split ratio reflows UI to top

Open opticron opened this issue 8 months ago • 3 comments

Detailed description

When running Tusky in split screen mode, any adjustment of the split ratio will cause the UI to reflow and lose the current scroll position, defaulting to the top of the toots list.

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. Open the browser (or any other app)
  2. Open Tusky
  3. Pull up from the gesture bar and hold for a short interval until Tusky appears inset with other apps scrollable to the left
  4. Tap on the Tusky icon to get the app management menu
  5. Tap "Split screen"
  6. Tap the browser or other app that was previously open
  7. Scroll down a page or two in the home feed list
  8. Tap and hold the center of the divider between the apps
  9. Drag the divider up or down to adjust the split ratio
  10. Note that Tusky has reset to the top of the toot list ...

Debug information

Tusky 28.0 Google Pixel 8 Android version: 15 SDK version: 35

That should definitely not happen 😳 I tried it with multiple phones and it worked fine. Anything that could be special about your setup? 🤔

It happens even without split screen mode when rotating the device to cause a UI reflow. I probably have some unholy combination of settings which I wouldn't even remember how to describe. Is there any way to get a summary of settings changes from defaults?

Under preferences, things that I might have touched:

  • black app theme
  • newest first reading order
  • main nav position top

Under account prefs:

  • self-boosts are hidden
