Make the "Delete" button in notifications optional
This button holds real danger for daily use. Since it not only clears the app’s notifications but directly your instance’s notifications, it is really dangerous, even with the confirm dialog. I suppose the importance of this button was overrated from the beginning. Social media is not email. You don’t want to reach inbox zero there. One possible alternative would be to stain the background color of already over-scrolled (read) notifications. But please just as an option in settings.

I am really not sure if this should be a preference. I would be okay with it being more hidden but it's tricky
I like to keep my notifications forever and the prominent "CLEAR" button just scares me. What is the reason, this button shouldn't be optional?
If you don't need the filters, the already is an option to hide the whole bar.
That’s not the answer to "Why is there a CLEAR button?" I need the filters, but the Clear button scares me too! Once I accidentally clicked it, it wiped all my notifications even on Mastodon Web, dafuqq?! I know of no other fedi client providing such a nuclear function. And why? Isn’t it enough to mark them as read, why delete them?
