I belive the installatin guide is missing something
Hello everybody, well to me was impossible to install the tool for an offline use, i followe the giude for the installatin, but it doesn't works. I'm using ubuntu 22.04 but i tried ubuntu 24.04 and windows 11. I try also the docker way by cloning the space in higging face. Everything i tryed didn't work. I do not list the errors messages because they where every time different due to the fact that i tryed with different configuration, if someone has a nice installation guide that works fine will be apreciated. Good life to everybody.
Hi @TheMich01, if you use torch2.x, please refer #16.
it's possible that the problem is about torch and cuda during installation of pythorch 3D, i'm trying different version but this time the output massages is a scrolling text that has been generated during 15 minutes, is impossible to read what cause the problem, i have never seen something like that
The problem is UBUNTU!!! when you instal the cudatoolkit inside the OS via sudo apt instal ... it doesn't create the environment path for cuda_home and is necessary to setup it manually, then, when i create the conda environment and i install the cudatoolkit inside the environment it is not recognized the version of the environment, so i have the 12.4 inside my os, and the 11.6 inside the conda environment, and when i try to install the pythorch 3d the version recognized is the 12.4 and it doesn't works, so i had to configure manually the cuda_path inside the environment to have the 11.6 working. So the installation of pythorch3d has started but... this time i have a new error but is not due to mismatch cuda version as before. So i'm asking what linux distro are you using? anyone use windows? but i'd prefere not to install windows. Anyway i'll continue trying with different torch and cudatoolkit version
