Completion only triggering when I run Atom Ternjs: StartCompletion

I'm on Atom 1.17.0 with TernJS v0.18.3 and completions are presented as expected when I activate Atom Ternjs: StartCompletion with the shortcut or otherwise, but the completions do not appear until then. Please let me know if there is any other information I can offer that would help!

It is always good to provide a sample repo where the issue occurs and providing information about operating system etc.. Completion should show up when typing inside the correct scope or after an obj.inside JavaScript files. There might be some interference with another package. The list is endless. You could also try checking the console for additional exceptions.
