Disable comment formatting and alternating timestamp format

Can't figure out how to disable a couple of features:

1. It seems everything starting with and to the right of "#" in our log messages is highlighted in green -- maybe interpreted as a comment?

2. Every 5 minutes of logs alternate between being normal and grey, and bold and white (just the timestamps). So, timestamps for log messages from 19:00:00 to 19:34:59 will be in bold and white, and those for log messages from 19:35:00 to 19:39:59 will normal text.

Any ideas on how to disable these would be appreciated. Thank you!

I do find the grey to be very hard to read in some contexts (even if I disable transparency on my windows, which I normally find useful even with 2 screens and 4 virtual desktops) e.g. especially in sql data graphing areas. (Example in other recent post 584)
