I usually never have this issue while trying to compile stuff from the AUR...

I use this nowadays: https://archlinux.org/packages/community/x86_64/picom/ https://github.com/yshui/picom

picom's fading animation is a great annoyance for me so I don't use it.

This looks to be an issue with github and not this repository in particular. The best course of action would be to wait and try again later. Has it worked in the meantime?

FYI, I am not the packer nor maintainer of said AUR package. Issues regarding the PKGBUILD are better asked directly in the AUR comments than here.
