Add Tailscale Addon
It'd be fantastic to see Tailscale as an option in the catalog of apps available for TrueNAS SCALE. On their website, Tailscale boasts:
Zero config VPN. Installs on any device in minutes, manages firewall rules for you, and works from anywhere.
Personally, I've found this to be true. It took me mere moments to install Tailscale and have it running on all of my devices. As a FreeNAS/TrueNAS CORE user, I struggled to configure a jail running Tailscale and ultimately I decided to run Tailscale inside a Bhyve VM on my own NAS. Leveraging Tailscale's relay nodes allows Tailscale to route traffic back to my NAS (and potentially other devices)

We do not plan to add any VPN as a seperate App. However: a TailScale addon might be possible! :)
But as i'm the only one working on the common library at the moment and am not planning to implement this, it's most likely not going to happen before 2023.

You might want to go check out NAS-110540: Tailscale System Service on the iXsystems JIRA. It seems more appropriate to be implemented by iXsystems as a system service and given both the ETA and it's unlikely it escapes @truecharts-bot 's stale logic before something like this will be considered.
Hey @stavros-k, I can not find a way to make this work. I tried both, the default settings, also running as root, but always when start shell in the pod, and running tailscale up I am getting the following error:
failed to connect to local tailscaled (which appears to be running as tailscaled, pid 8). Got error: Failed to connect to local Tailscale daemon for /localapi/v0/status; not running? Error: dial unix /var/run/tailscale/tailscaled.sock: connect: no such file or directory
can you please share with me what is your working configuration?
