Sort by select drop-down

Is it also possible to set the sorting by an external drop-down? When user testing my table, sometime users did not see the option to sort the columns or did not understand you could click on it. Most tables/lists online are sorted by a pull-down.

Is there any option to do that? That would be super cool!
