Note that this plugin is kind of deprecated as it doesn't work with the new Flex Objects from Grav 1.6+.

@mahagr Are there any plugins that work with Flex Objects? I would like to know more about working with Flex Objects.

RIght now there's a private repository which basically replaces flex directory plugin, but as Flex is still constantly evolving with multiple API changes, we've not released it. Basically, Flex Objects replace this plugin with even more flexible one, allowing you to easily have unlimited and highly customizable data directories including user and pages.

That said, there's still a lot of work to do, but you can already see building blocks in Grav 1.5 and 1.6.
