"Hide Overlay on Mouseover" not hiding correctly

1. Enable "Hide Overlay on Mouseover"

Expected behavior

Overlay hides on mouseover

Problematic behavior

Overlay just turns black on mouseover

• Desktop Environment : LXQt

Additional context

I uninstalled Picom a while ago, so I'm running just OpenBox with no compositor. I suspect that could potentially be related?
