Trickster new release?
Hello Team,
I was wondering if we can get a new release for Trickster with all the new code changes. It seems like the last release is close to two years ago https://github.com/trickstercache/trickster/releases/tag/v1.1.5
Thanks & Regards
Hi Nadeem, thanks for checking in. You might have noticed that the project activity has picked up significantly over the last few months. That is because we have brought on a new contributor (and now maintainer 🎉), @jakenichols2719, who I am sponsoring to work on the project with me. Jake and I are planning to get the 2.0 release completed and out the door later this winter (hopefully by the end of Feb), so stay tuned! I'll keep this issue open until we have that new release cut.
Hello @jranson and @jakenichols2719, are you still planning on having 2.0 out sometime soon? Thank you!
Hi @eglute! We have a few more changes and fixes to go over for the beta--InfluxDB 2 and MySQL support, service autodiscovery, and a migration off of gorilla/mux
are all nearing completion, and we're working to make sure those features are stable and performant.
I can't provide an exact time frame, but I graduate in a couple of days, and I will be free to get all those features squared away for the release. Just checking in to let you know we're here and on it! ☺️
Hi, any updates?
Hello, trickster team???
If this repo is dead, then this might help other lost souls.
I switched to https://thanos.io/v0.16/components/query-frontend.md/#caching and it was a seamless replacement for trickster
Hi, @Danny02 @vitalyu. Here's where we are on the next v2 beta:
- There are some dependencies that need updating
- The Clickhouse multi-line query is fixed, but there's an error in testing that I haven't resolved yet
- Autodiscovery needs a couple more changes to be merged into v2
I have some time carved out this weekend to power through these items. We're getting the beta out the door as soon as we can, but please understand that we're largely volunteers that are also managing professional and personal lives. Turns out having a full-time job, like being in college, isn't super conducive to open source dev time. I wish someone had explained that to me sooner!
Regardless, I am really sorry about the delay, and I know explanations like this don't get you an updated Trickster version. Please keep an eye on pull requests over the next couple of weeks as I wrap up these last action items--that'll be a better metric for progress than any estimate I give here.
Hi @jnichols-git,
Any update on this?
Thanks!
