It's a question of the unixodbc driver you have installed/configured on your OS/Version - not the iRODS itself. I don't think I've seen anyone report using PostgreSQL14 yet.
Looks like it might be related to the odbc protocol version itself (v12 appears to be the threshold needed). https://git.postgresql.org/gitweb/?p=psqlodbc.git&a=blob&f=info.c&h=f19032147ee1794e9685e7bc88293df6769c49c9&hb=HEAD#l2352 So, now I'm not sure if it's the unixodbc driver...
this cannot be in 4.x because of backwards compatibility promises to 3.x. related... https://docs.irods.org/4.3.1/system_overview/limitations_and_restrictions/#maximum-fqdn-hostname-length moving to 5.0.0 to remain front-of-mind.
Marking this as resolved - no action necessary in the server at this time.
Very nice.
well, 'the administrator' is just the `rodsadmin` defined in that server's service account... if there are more than one `rodsadmin` in the zone... does this matter?
> creating a new connection I think that sounds more safe in the long run.
updated the checkboxes accordingly.
@SwooshyCueb @alanking can we think about this for 4.3.1 as well? Not sure there is anything to do other than confirm things are behaving.
This feels a bit cumbersome - is there a way we can make this easier / more consistent to hold?
