When using with MacOS (Monterey) if fails

Open lu7did opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

Compiling went Ok but when ran under MacOS (Monterey) the program when opening the devices with PortAudio (error 9986).

Researching the problem it seems to be related to an authorization problem required by all Mac OS after Big Sur which, apparently, it's fixed by adding some parameters to the portaudio call.

As it is the program isn't usable, after the error become unresponsive until terminated.

Regards, Pedro.

Hi Pedro,

Thanks for reporting this. I don't use OSX myself and have no way of checking. Have you given BasicDSP permission to use the selected audio device? I found this: https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=103573

I'm not sure PortAudio itself can do anything about this.

Regards, Niels.

Thank you for answering. Yes, I did check that message but basicdsp isn't listed in order to allow permits to be given.

I might try to find out the entry where the differences in the calling are mentioned.

Regards, Pedro.
