Insert a new related tab at the: Child slot?

It would be cool if it would be possible to insert new tabs as dependents of the current. I used it in TreeStyleTab and it works really well in some scenarios.

Alt+Shift+I creates a new sibling tab of the current tab. Alt+Shift+O creates a new child tab of the current tab.

Would also be cool if it would be configurable. Can it be configurable somehow? Like shortcuts or the default action? (open child/sibling/independent tab)?
