Active translation term is not visible in UI
I have an error from a translator. I cannot reproduce it myself, so if you like you can just go ahead and close this issue. But I write it here in case there is something obvious I'm missing.
The problem is that the active term is not displayed in the UI. So when you click a term to translate it, it disappears. Only to reappear once you click another term.
It happened on Windows 10.
See image - the active term should be at the top - but instead theres just two lines:
Any ideas?
I have the same issue on Win 10 also in Swedish language, wonder if its related to the translated GUI into Swedish, can one run the Virtaal application using just default language, which is English I presume? Just reinstalled and noted that I get no option to choose what language to use. I get an option about what language to use during install but never in what way to run the actual application.
Thank you for reporting. My first guess is that this is a problem with the source file. Or is this the part that you couldn't reproduce? I see it is XLIFF, and Virtaal's XLIFF support is not that great. Maybe there was something unexpected in the XLIFF file that caused the problem. There might be a log in the user profile that should contain a more detailed error. If we can obtain that, it might help as well.
I couldn't reproduce locally. I might be able to get the log -> can you supply more details of where to find this log?
I think the logs are stored close to the settings on Windows. Check the locations here: https://virtaal.readthedocs.io/en/latest/tips.html I can't confirm myself as I'm not using Windows. The XLIFF file itself might be quite useful as well. If there are concerns about privacy, my guess is that even just the first unit might be good enough too duplicate.
@Abekonge were you able to check friedelwolff's last suggestion?
