Hi there! Thanks for this. It's going to take a little while to get this merged because I have to deal with the old-style travis now being deprecated and causing the build to fail here. Did the tests pass for you with this set up?

I've been re-doing most of this package through a different series of packages that break the idea into its constitutent bits:

• context
• queuer
• rrq

The heartbeatr rewrite was done for those packages and I forgot that it was going to affect these. Can you let me know if the new series of packages might suit your use case? There will probably be a CRAN push on them either late this year or early next.
