Line Number Background Inconsistant

Everything seems to look fine with this color scheme, except for the background color of the line number column, which is black in contrast to the dark grey of the color scheme. I have attached an image which demonstrates this issue. I am using iTerm2 and made sure it is reporting as xterm-256 colors. I have also tried export TERM=xterm-256color, but this problem remains. The color scheme uses there terminal's default background color, which perhaps you changed?
