cmd / rsp persistence

We need a mechanism for recording command and response streams. I'm expecting that this will largely be dictated by the tools that we want to use. libpcap seems like the most logical choice but that could just be my own ignorance showing. This issue is mostly relevant to information collection:

  • format of capture files (libpcap?)
  • capture file handling / strategy: one file for all cmd / rsp buffers? one file per connection?
