Identify the holes on the solid object

Dear tpaviot, Currently, i am working on the assembled solid object which conists of many subparts containing holes on it. My target is is to identify the holes and count their numbers in each subparts. I tried to implement the examples of face recognition to identify the holes, As holes are cylindrical in shape so i select the the surafce as a cylinder. But some of the holes are not detected using this method. I am not sure whether this method is correct method for hole detection. Waiting for your reply.
