Brushes redux

If brushes redux has unsolvable issues --- is that correct, and, should I be using brushes XP could it be more reliable, Welcome advice/opinion, as worried that I'm wasting investing creative time in brushes redux, which is a shame.

Brushes redux is the much reduxed (reduced ) version of the great Brushes. If Steve Sprang could creat such a superb app why can't this developer- the code is free source now. All over the UK Brushes 2 and 3 caught the imagination of artists and students, and it started being taught in high class places like the V&A and major art colleges. Then Apple changed its operating system and Brushes was killed off. Suddenly artists everywhere lost their work and their favorite drawing app. Shameful. Utterly shameful. The other supposedly Brushes replacement that is not for free is even worse. Don't waste your money.
