Saving work

Open jameschester opened this issue 8 years ago • 2 comments

I recently had to upgrade to brushes redux because my old version wouldn't let me work on my artwork and it's becoming impossible to save and send my work to myself for backup. I m an artist and have over 2 years of work on here and I'd hate to loose it. Is there anyway of you sending me a back up of all the work I have on there so I can remove the old app from my iPad and save memory.

There is no easy way I guess, but take a backup (unencrypted) of your device though iTunes. Browse the backup with e.g. iExplorer (https://www.macroplant.com/downloads). screen shot 2016-06-16 at 20 41 23 Find the old brushes app and export the paintings folder to a secure place. screen shot 2016-06-16 at 20 26 24

To get the paintings into Redux, you could do that with iExplorer. Make sure your device is connected and visible in iExplorer. Find the Apps section and locate Brushes Redux. Now right click on the paintings folder under Documents and choose Add files and add your backed up paintings folder called .brushes_unpacked. You can also drag the backed up .brushes_unpacked folders into the paintings folder. screen shot 2016-06-16 at 20 45 56

I hope this will help you!

I see this may be a helpful solution to restoring my backed up files from Dropbox since after a Dropbox update they are no longer directly accessible.
