How do I take advantage of the octicon?

In your readme, the output for the header anchors includes the class octicon-link, so I thought integration was intentional. I'd like to know how to make the icon render.

Replace <span class="octicon octicon-link"></span> with 🔗  to see an unicode char for a chain. With some CSS and PSEUDO-Classes like after / before / hover it is possible to design the anchor
