It would be nice to have a small text in the lower middle or on one side that lists the current filename and the index/number of files in the current slideshow.

Hi, thank you for your comment. Do you mean the index/number and filename in the title bar of the window isn't working for you?
Sorry, I was unclear here. I was thinking about fullscreen mode, where there is no window border.
Oh I see. Well, I'm not sure if I want to do that... because I want no distraction for fullscreen viewing. Though if there is very subtle way to show it, I might consider adding it as an option. Thank you again for your insight.
