Torbrowser-launcher with firejail and apparmor (with newest profile) hangs at installing

Open ghost opened this issue 3 years ago • 2 comments

Every time I launch it, even though it is already "installed" (the files are where they need to be), torbrowser-launcher (whether launched via the terminal or via the GUI) tells me that it is downloading the newest version, then tells me that the version I have is out of date, and then starts to "install" the newest version, and hangs. I can exit the install prompt, and the next time I launch the browser it will do the same thing again.

I can launch tor browser without apparmor by pointing to .local/share/torbrowser/tbb/etc... and using ./start-tor-browser inside the Browser folder. When I preprend ./start-tor-browser with the firejail command, I receive the error that "no suitable ./start-tor-browser executable found," and the same when I prepend it with firejail --apparmor.

Interestingly, when I launch it via just ./start-tor-browser, aa-status claims that the apparmor profile is activated, but firejail --list does not show the profile being active.
