User can view/edit/add autocorrect entries.

I am using Mountain Lion. I can add new entries via the UI, but it doesn't get saved, nor does it work. I can scroll through the list and see the entry is there, but still doesn't come up in the suggestion list.

Tried restarting, removing the avro keyboard and adding again. No luck.

I can see after restart that the added entries are all gone. So, it looks like the changes aren't saved.

Can this be fixed?

@oazabir yes, you are right. As, you can see this issue is still open. Adding entries through the UI has not been done yet.

Any quick workaround? I tried manually editing the autocorrect.dct file, doesn't help.

I last worked on it a long time ago so don't remember properly. But, As far as I remember you have to maintain the order while editing autocorrect.dct. Because, I was using binary search to find entries but didn't sort them while loading. Instead I sorted them in the file itself.

Thanks, I will try that. How do I reload the app after making changes in autocorrect.dct? Changing language doesn't seem to work. Any quick way besides doing a reboot?

Just kill the Avro Keyboard process

Excellent, that works. Sorting the autocorrect.dct is the way to do it.

I'm glad that it helped.

There's one issue I am unable to solve. I have added various autocorrect entries, all working fine, except one.

I have put an autocorrect entry for kono, which replaces to kOnO.

But it never comes up in the suggestion list. I have tried with holo -> hOlO, koro -> kOrO, all works. But this kono never works.

Any suggestion how to fix this?

Not really sure if it's still under development, but chiming in to say that this feature would be a very helpful one! I'd love the ability to add my own items in the autocorrect list!

Thanks for the already great software we have though. Great work! 😄
