Suggestions for improvement

May I suggest useful improvements. I want to point out the great features of the program PdfMerge https://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfmerge/

1. Allow the creation of bookmark trees by specifying bookmarks to be added

• Bookmark => Optional bookmark name. If not specified file bookmarks will not be imported. If specified file bookmarks will form a sub tree under the specified bookmark.
• Level => This is used to arrange bookmarks in a hierarchy. An exception will result if a level is skipped. The default is the root level. 1, 2, 3

2. Allow the import of bookmarks from the merged documents.

• Import => If set to “exclude” bookmarks will not be imported - YOU CAN INCLUDE OR EXCLUDE BOOKMARKS FOR INDIVIDUAL FILES

3. Duplicate row at END (this is useful when splits or insert PDF files)
4. Copy (all) filename(s) to bookmark(s) without extension (Can save a lot of typing!)
5. Projects can be saved and merged repeatedly - XML format (encoding="utf-8")

The option to convert said bookmarks into Named Destinations would be amazing. As it is, Word only converts headings to bookmarks which are visible in browser navigation pane, but not universally accepted as Parameters in URL as Named Destinations are.

On the flip side of that, Named Destinations are not visible in the navigation pane, which makes identifying them a hassle, if one wants to point to them specifically in a link as some characters are not allowed and there is no standard way to convert unacceptable characters so different programs substitute them with different characters. So maybe the ability to generate a report of all Named Destinations as well? Actually, the second feature would probably be even more useful than the first.
