Buggy text on table of contents page

When merging files with option set for Table of contents:, there is a bug when generating with the option Generate from file names. PDFsam_merge-fileName.pdf

Generating with the option Generate from documents titles seems fine. PDFsam_merge-docTitle.pdf

Though I don't understand the difference – both seem to use the same string. My original PDF documents consist of only one line of text (with those Croatian and German characters).

I've just exerienced the same problem when generating files with the option for the Add a footer PDFsam_merge-footer.pdf

As it seems to be related to the above problem, I hope it's ok not to send a separate issue.

Same issue here:

• table of contents page shows garbage when german umlaut characters are part of the filename
• footer is showing the same problem.

I ran a test on my (less used) Windows 10 PC (all latest updates installed) with the same PDFsam version. On this machine the error did not show up. So it is a problem only affecting the macOS platform.
