Camera Id not found

Open osky50 opened this issue 7 years ago • 4 comments

Expected Behavior

Camera should show video streaming.

Current Behavior

When clicking on streaming, both cameras generate a Camera ID error. A still image from the camera is shown on the bottom with the motion and quiet buttons grayed out. Additionally, when clicking on Refresh (blue button), it opens with Chrome, it does not refresh the page from within the ST app.

Steps to Reproduce (for bugs)

  1. Fresh install and linked to a Nest Camera with Software version 18b43056839e

Context

Can't access stream from either camera. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled everything from Github with the same results. I also tried removing the cameras from the NST Manager app and reinstalling 30 secs later with the same results.

I think Nest figured out how to stop us from scraping the HTML page for the ID. I will need to dive into this further.

Thanks a lot for your reply. Another thing that I would like to mention, I have tried the new Samsung Smartthing App, and when I try to click on any of my Nest's things, it gives an error saying cannot connect (It is still working from the classic SmartThings App). Do you think it is it related to the OAuth configuration ?. Thanks a lot.

Has there been any update on this? I’m having the same issue, where I can access both the thermostat and camera through the ST Classic app but not in the new app. At some point they will stop supporting the classic app so this means will will be without any ST Nest integration. Is this a problem for anyone else?

I expect Smartthings will in the future provide instructions about how custom items work with the new app. Until they provide this, I don't expect them to stop the classic app
