Not usable without timer window and notifications

Open crystalfp opened this issue 5 years ago • 3 comments

In the past I was a big user of Tomighty (the java one). Now it does not start anymore (I'm at java 12 and it asks for java 1.5.0) so tried the new 1.0.0 beta 4 on Win 10 64bits.

Unfortunately, it is not usable because:

  1. No timer window. So I cannot see the time passing.
  2. No notification and sound when a phase finished (they are enabled in preferences)
  3. Selecting "Pomodoro" from the menu does not signal the end of the 25 minutes and start of the short break. The same at the end of the short break. The icon changes to gray and nothing more happens. Seems I have to manually start the break.

If it could help, I have three virtual desktops and the screen is extended to another monitor.

Thanks for your help! mario

I'm in the same situation. I tried 1.0.0 beta 4 for a while, but I never get any notification when the timer ends. The icon's color in the system tray changes, that is all.

It is probably possible to run the java version by uninstalling the recent Java Runtime Environment, then installing JRE 5 (=1.5.0), and after that installing the more recent jre if you need it for other things. At least that's how I read you can run multiple JRE's.

I just noticed pull request #18, which at least solves the sound issue for me! I still don't get a toast, but at least having the sound already makes it much better. You can install it from https://github.com/alaurenau/tomighty-windows/releases/tag/v1.0-beta05.

Currently I'm an happy user of the old 0.7.1 I think I will wait a little more before testing 1.0.0 again. Anyway, keep up wit the good work! Thanks mario
