Well the version in the npm registry is ancient anyway and I assume it's only @jfirebaugh that has access to publish an update there. I certainly don't.

So I just tried this with the apache-ubuntu-2204 test and bizarrely it made no difference to the run time which I do admit I don't really understand.
That was intended more as a general comment on our strategy, that in the short term we are likely to upgrade machines to 22.04 simply because moving them to Debian...
